The Washington Redskins are one of the favorite local NFL teams. The Daily Press today reported the death of their safety, Sean Taylor. It’s such a shame to hear of someone dying so young. My heart goes out to his family.
You may have also heard of the recent controversy over Michael Vick. The Daily Press also reported today that he will be in Surry on April 2nd for his trial on charges of dogfighting and animal cruelty.
Sports in Williamsburg generally tends to be on a local level, since we aren’t blessed with our own national level teams, but I can tell you from my own observations that there are plenty of hardcore sports fans in this town. Just go to any sports bar on a Sunday afternoon and you’ll see waves of folks in jerseys rooting for their favorite NFL team!
